A police case had been registered against six supporters of Congress MP Naveen Jindal after they forced their way into the residence of Arvind Kumar Sharma, another MP of the same party, over a property dispute, police said Sunday.
According to the first information report (FIR) registered at the Tilak Marg Police Station, the six people entered Sharma's house at 20, Kasturba Gandhi Marg Saturday night and threatened his driver Mahender, who later informed the police.Police arrested the six people, including Jindal's close associate Rakesh Goel, from Sharma's house.'We have booked all of them for trespassing, ' said Rajender Meena, investigation officer (IO) of the case.
The six accused were Sunday produced before Duty Magistrate Sanjay Bansal who remanded them in 14 days' judicial custody. All of them have also moved their bail applications, which will be heard Monday.
The dispute pertains to a 555-acre land purchased by the two MPs in Sonepat, Haryana. Jindal represents the Kurukshetra constituency in Haryana while Sharma is the MP from the adjacent Karnal constituency.
